A man who drove his car twice in six days while over the drink drive limit has been fined and ordered to do unpaid work.
Fraser McDonald, 29, had been caught by police while driving with 31 mics of alcohol on December 18 in Strathmore Avenue, Johnson Avenue, Clepington Road and at Tesco car park, Kingsway West retail park.
He was given an undertaking to appear at court at a later date but less than a week later was then found to be over the limit again (78 mics), while driving in Seagate and St Andrews Street on Christmas Eve (Dec 24).
McDonald, of Elders Court, admitted the charges when he appeared from custody last month.
His sentencing was deferred until Wednesday, where he appeared again at Dundeee Sheriff Court.
Solicitor Ross Donnelly told the court McDonald appreciated the situation he had put himself in.
He said his client was on benefits and suggested unpaid work would be an appropriate sentence.
He added that McDonald was currently looking for employment in Inverness.
Sheriff Tom Hughes told McDonald he was prepared to put his behaviour down to stupidity. But he added he wanted to deal with the cases separately through unpaid work and a financial penalty to reflect the seriousness of the charges.
Sheriff Hughes ordered McDonald to undertake 75 hours of unpaid work, to be completed within six months.
He was also fined £300 and disqualified him from driving for 15 months.
