Unpaid work for Dundee man who hit woman in face with guitar
BySheanne Mulholland
A Dundee man who threw a guitar at a woman was ordered to complete 140 hours of unpaid work.
Christopher Donnelly, 24, admitted a charge of assault at the city’s sheriff court.
Donnelly, of Charleston Road, admitted that on August 31 last year, at a property on Kinghorne Road, he assaulted Fiona Nicholson, by striking her on the face with a guitar, to her injury and permanent disfigurement.
The court previously heard the assault took place at Ms Nicholson’s home, where Donnelly had agreed to spend the weekend.
It heard numerous other people arrived and were drinking together when Donnelly kissed another girl, unknown to Ms Nicholson.
Fiscal depute Vicki Bell told the court that the complainer became upset, asking Donnelly and the other female to leave.
The complainer then removed his acoustic guitar from a cupboard in the hallway and threw it at him. Donnelly then threw it back, striking her in the face, and left.
The following day Ms Nicholson went to hospital where she received three stitches to a cut on her lip and treatment for a deviated septum.
