A Dunfermline man has appeared in court charged with an attempted rape in the town centre.
Alan Laidlaw, 36, of Victoria Terrace, appeared on petition at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
It is alleged that between August 5 and 7 in Canmore Street he assaulted a woman, seized her by the hair, restricted her breathing, removed her clothing and attempted to rape her.
He is also accused of assaulting and robbing a man who had just used the ATM at Santander in Dunfermline High Street on August 5 to 6.
Laidlaw is also accused of committing sexual offences in the town centre this month.
It is alleged that on September 2 at a pub in the town he repeatedly made sexual remarks towards a woman and behaved in an aggressive manner.
It is also alleged he sexually assaulted her.
It is further alleged that on September 3 at Carnegie Drive he sexually assaulted another woman by placing his hand under her skirt and placing his hand on her private parts over her underwear.
Laidlaw made no plea, the case was committed for further examination and he was remanded.
