A young Aberfeldy bridge designer will be at Monday’s official opening of the Queensferry Crossing.
Proud dad Lio Balland said: “The story started last April when my daughter Nina had to do a presentation and a project in her school , Grandtully Primary School.”
The project for the primary three youngster was about the role of an engineer.
Nina, 7, decided to do a project about the Queenferry Crossing as she had seen the bridge being built every time the family visited Edinburgh.
Nina helped her dad build the model of the bridge and did the presentation to her class and teacher.
Not only was the family invited to walk the bridge on Sunday, but Nina was also invited to attend the opening ceremony, said Lio.
“Nina received the official badge for the walk on the Sunday and she said to us ‘I am so lucky’.
“But I keep telling my daughter, she is not lucky, she worked hard on the project and people respect it.
“Hard work always pay off – maybe not always in real life.”
