Sunderland target Glen Kamara could be bound for Euros after scoring first Finland goal

Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara could be on his way to the next Euros after helping Finland to another impressive victory.

Kamara’s last-minute goal on Monday night – his first for his country – clinched a 2-0 victory over Greece in the Ratina Stadium in Tampere.

It leaves the Finns with a perfect record after four games and just needing a single point from their final two matches to confirm they’ll top their four-team group.

The 22-year-old – linked with Sunderland at the weekend – came on as a second half sub in a 1-0 win over Estonia on Friday night before getting the full 90 minutes against the Greeks.

As well as more than playing his part in helping his nation to their latest successes, that game time should be of benefit to Dundee.

Kamara, last season’s star man at Dens Park, has been struggling with an ankle problem since July.

He has been back for the Dark Blues’ last three league outings and will have benefited from the extra action while most of his clubmates were having the weekend off.

Kamara will be back in time to complete preparations for Saturday’s trip to face in-form Livingston, as should Benjamin Kallman.

The striker has also been back in Finland, with their U/21 squad.

They are due in European Championship action against Lithuania tonight.

The 20-year-old wasn’t involved when the Finns, who have no chance of qualifying, went down in a home clash with Georgia at the end of last week.
