Former Dundee United full-back Barry Douglas is set to be on the move again.
The 27-year-old is set to quit Konyaspor, with whom he recently won the Turkish Cup, because he wants to return to British football.
That’s alerted a number of clubs and reports from down south today have named his most likely destination as Championship outfit Wolves.
Talks between them and Konyaspor are understood to be at an advanced stage and it’s also believed Douglas is keen to sign up at Molineaux.
Wolves new boss Nuno Espirito Santo also has a Dundee United connection, having employed former Tannadice youth coach and current Hearts boss Ian Cathro as his assistant when he was in charge at Spanish giants Valencia as well as Portuguese outfit Rio Ave prior to that.
Nuno is prepared to fork out around £1 million to get Douglas and that matches his present employers’ valuation.
United, meanwhile, remain hopeful of clinching a deal for midfielder Fraser Fyvie.
The 24-year-old was not part of the squad that reported back for training today, but it’s understood he passed a medical at Tannadice yesterday.
Talks over personal terms are continuing and he should be confirmed as a Tangerine in the next day or so.
