Good Morning Britain and This Morning will both be extended by 30 minutes from January next year, in a shake-up to the ITV morning schedule.
A gap was left in the weekday schedule when The Jeremy Kyle Show was axed by the broadcaster earlier this year, following the death of a guest, and in its place Judge Rinder has been airing in the 9.25am to 10am time slot.
But from January 6 Good Morning Britain, regularly hosted by Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan, will now air for an extra half an hour, from 6am until 9am, pushing back Lorraine, which will now move from 8.30am to 9am.
This Morning, which currently runs from 10.30 to 12.30, will run for an extra 30 minutes.
The long-running daytime show, hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, will now start after Lorraine at 10am, finishing at 12.30pm.
Loose Women will remain in its 12.30pm to 1.30pm position, meaning ITV’s morning schedule will be fully live.
Kyle’s tabloid talk show was cancelled after 14 years on air following the death of participant Steve Dymond a week after he recorded an episode.
Antiques show Dickinson’s Real Deal initially replaced The Jeremy Kyle Show when it was first pulled in May, before it was replaced by Rinder’s programme.
