Ariana Grande is on course for a second week at number one with her single 7 Rings.

The song – which samples My Favourite Things from The Sound Of Music – is 9,000 combined sales ahead of its closest competitor, Ava Max’s Sweet But Psycho, at the midweek stage of the chart week.

Sam Smith and Normani are expected to hold on at three with Dancing With A Stranger, the Official Charts Company said.

Calvin Harris and Rag ‘N’ Bone Man’s Giant are behind them at number four, while Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus round out the top five with Nothing Breaks Like A Heart.

Over on the album chart, Bring Me The Horizon are charging towards their first UK number one album.

The rock group’s sixth offering is outselling its two nearest competitors combined.

Amo leads the way with the most physical and digital sales from across the weekend.

Only The Greatest Showman was streamed more over the past three days, and it is currently occupying the number two slot with all metrics combined.

Backstreet Boys are on course for their first top 10 album in over 17 years with DNA, which is sitting at three at the midweek mark, while Rudimental are set for a third top five entry with Toast To Our Differences at four.
