Scotland’s own “American rockers” Kassidy are back at one of their favourite Scottish gigs next week. Riding high on the wave of great reviews for the debut album Hope Street, the alt-country rockers come to The Doghouse on Tuesday, April 12.
With some great memories of their previous appearances at the Doghouse, it’s a hugely anticipated gig for band members Barrie-James O’Neill, Hamish Fingland, Lewis Andrew and Chris Potter.
“We’ve started our last couple of tours in the Doghouse. We just love that venue it’s great banter and the people there are great,” said Barrie. “There are good personalities and it’s a good place to start your tour.”
For Kassidy, starting a big tour is the most exciting thing they can do. Unlike some bands who shy away from the live arena, touring only to earn a living, Barrie says the Glasgow foursome positively adore plugging in the amps and stepping up on stage to the roar of the crowds.
“We’re just one of these bands who really do thrive on creating and performing live. We love entertaining and playing to different people every night, experiencing different audiences and things. We just want to get out and do it I want to be able to go out on the road forever. I would be more than happy to do that.”
Once this tour is over, Barrie and the boys will be heading back to their “Monkees-style” existence in a converted stables in Glasgow.
