Two well-known Perthshire women will be getting together with the cream of Scottish celebrity to host an 18th birthday party with a difference.
In a bid to raise funds for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) as it reaches the milestone, film producer Carol McGregor and farmer’s wife Christine Bryden have organised the high-profile ladies’ lunch.
The pair have strong connections with CHAS, as Carol’s son and Hollywood actor Ewan is a long-standing supporter, and Christine has worked with children with behavioural problems and learning difficulties for more than 15 years.
They have also been joined on their organising committee by cookery presenter Sue Lawrence and NHS radiographer Sue Hadden.
The ladies lunch, entitled 18, will be hosted by TV personality Carol Smillie, while radio stars Kaye Adams and Jay Crawford will take on the roles of guest speaker and auctioneer.
Ms Smillie said, “CHAS is a wonderful charity and I’m delighted to be involved with this event that marks such a milestone for the organisation.
“I’m very much looking forward to the event and I’m sure all the ladies attending will help CHAS celebrate this birthday in style.”
Taking place on Friday, November 19, at the Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh, the ladies’ lunch will include a drinks reception, three-course lunch, entertainment, auction and raffle.
Tickets cost £600 for a table of 10 and are available by contacting CHAS relationship manager Kerry Jackson on 0131 444 4914 or email kerryjackson@chas.org.uk
