Welcome for weary Mark Parsons after cycle round Scotland

A wind-battered Dundee pharmacist has arrived back in the city after completing a 1200-mile cycle round the coast of Scotland.
Mark Parsons (49), who works at Ninewells Hospital, said the weather had been horrendous for most of the trip, with gales and rain causing problems.
“Of the 17 days it has taken to cycle round the coast, only three days have had no rain,” Mike said.
Several members of the congregation of The Steeple Church in Dundee joined him on the last leg of his trip and accompanied him to the finish on Sunday.
The effort has raised around £2500, which will go towards the funds needed to upgrade parts of the church building and provide improved catering and hospitality facilities.
