A group of young people who recently investigated the 200-year history of their youth centre presented a time capsule of their research to Dundee City Archives.

The history sleuths captured their knowledge of The Shore, found on Shore Terrace, as part of a Heritage Lottery Fund project, after securing a £24,900 grant under the Young Roots scheme.

Designed to inspire young people to become more interested in local history, the venture brought young participants and older volunteers together from throughout the city.

They went on to record and interpret their findings through a 14-month festival of visual arts, film-making and drama events.

Before becoming a youth venue the Shore enjoyed a colourful history and used to operate as The Dundee Music Hall, city assembly rooms and more latterly Winter the printers.
