Seven weeks of roadworks due to begin at Forfar’s Westport junction
ByNews reporter
Forfar drivers are facing seven weeks of disruption at one of the town’s busiest junctions from Monday.
The works, to be carried out by Land & Building Services Ltd and Siemens, involve replacing the existing traffic signals and associated cable ducting as well as carriageway and footway works on all four approaches to the Westport junction.
They will begin in West High Street and a road closure will be in place for at least two weeks from Westport junction to the West High Street car park.
Public transport will be affected on this route.
The alternative route for motorists is via Craig O’Loch Road, Queenswell Road, Castle Street, The Cross and West High Street.
Lane closures will be used for the work on the other three approaches and temporary lights will be put in place when the existing lights are disconnected.
