A bag of needles left on a former Angus airfield has been removed after a week.
Montrose woman Carol-Anne Govan said a friend was walking dogs at the town’s aerodrome when she discovered the “disgusting” cache.
She said: “This was reported last week by another member of the public and these needles are yet to be removed. Dog walkers, children and other members of the public use this area.”
However, a council spokeswoman confirmed the needles were found on private land.
She said: “Where a discarded syringe or drugs paraphernalia is found in an open space we will uplift it as quickly as possible.
“We inspected the site (yesterday) morning and the syringes have been removed,” she added.
