A fundraising concert for an Angus statue to AC/DC rocker Bon Scott raised around £2,000 for the project.
Kirriemuir Town Hall hosted tribute band Volts, supported by local bands Buck Rogers and Emerald Sunday.
The total now raised by community music charity DD8 Music is at £18,500, around half the amount needed.
A DD8 spokesman said: “A massive thank-you to Volts, Buck Rogers and Emerald Sunday for playing.
“Also thanks to all the DD8 Music volunteers for working their socks off. And finally thanks to all the fans who came out and supported the statue project.”
The town’s annual Bon Fest, which sees thousands of people gather in Kirriemuir to renew their allegiance to rocker Bon Scott, has been rescheduled.
The event will see the unveiling of his homeland’s first statue dedicated to the AC/DC rocker, who died in 1980 at the age of 33 from alcohol poisoning.
The festival is moving to August 15 through 17 and there are plans to bring camping to the event.
