The footballing and maritime heritage of an Angus town are to be showcased in a documentary beamed to homes across the UK.
TV camera crews and presenter Tom Watt visited Arbroath and stayed over the weekend in order to film life in and around Gayfield Park, the home of second division club Arbroath FC.
Club chairman John Christison said the town is the sole Scottish participant in a series of documentaries to be aired by BT Media.
The company has taken over rights to show football previously owned by ESPN and the presenter best known for playing Lofty in EastEnders in the 1980s interviewed fans and locals as part of the documentary.
It aims to capture the mood of a club going into a big home match day.
Mr Christison said: “They picked one team from Scotland, England and Wales to do a documentary programme about, and we’re pleased they asked to come here.
“They’re doing things like going out to meet the fans, going over to Tuttie’s Neuk Inn, and they are going out on a boat this morning.”
The crew went out on local skipper Alex Smith’s boat Predator when they went to film at the Bell Rock Lighthouse.
It is understood the crew stayed at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel. It is not known when the programme will be shown.
