Neighbour stuck abusive note on woman’s door

A Dundee man stuck an abusive note to his neighbour’s door after claiming he had “had enough” of her anti-social behaviour, a court has heard.

Steven Boag wrote the diatribe following a trip to the pub after his neighbour had a party in the flat above.

Depute fiscal Charmaine Gilmartin told Dundee Sheriff Court: “The complainer moved into the flat above 18 months ago and there has been an ongoing neighbour dispute.

“Shortly before midnight, she found the note attached to her door with masking tape.

“It read: ‘Enjoy the visit from the police to serve the ASBO and eviction you cheap b****.

“‘Bye bye, that’s four people who have now complained on numerous occasions. Good f****** riddance, you f****** tart.’”

The woman contacted the police and when officers attended Boag’s home he told them: “That was me, I’d had enough.”

Defence solicitor David Duncan said: “It is his understanding that she is on an anti-social behaviour order and there have been issues with noise.

“The Tuesday prior there was a party and he gave a statement to the anti-social behaviour worker.

“The unfortunate thing is that he went to the pub, had a couple of drinks and put the note on the door.

“He understands this is not how you behave. He has not had any face-to-face argument with the woman.”

Boag, Craigie Drive, admitting behaving in a threatening and aggressive manner on November 14 by attaching a threatening and abusive note to the woman’s door.

Sheriff Elizabeth Munro deferred sentence for good behaviour until March 16.
