Some of the world’s most innovative designers will gather at an event led by Dundee University next weekend.
The Design in Business: Scottish Design Summit will welcome creative minds from around the globe to discuss how design impacts business.
The cabinet secretary for culture, Europe and external affairs, Fiona Hyslop, will also deliver a ministerial address at the summit, which is being held in Edinburgh by Dundee University’s Design in Action project.
“Design plays a fundamental role in our economy and in our culture,” Ms Hyslop said.
“There is no doubt that it contributes to our economic growth and our reputation as an internationally-leading cultural and creative country.
“Scotland has a well-established design infrastructure and I look forward to meeting our design talent at the event.”
The design summit, which takes place from Thursday to Saturday May 23, will look into the future of design.
Professor Georgina Follett, director for Design In Action, said: “Design in Action is helping business to think forward into the future and the design summit will offer models from individuals who are regarded as game changers.
“For any business looking to be at the forefront in the future, and those designers who are looking to apply their ideas to commercial use, this is the essential event in Scotland.”
Companies presenting at the summit include IBM, Jason Bruges Studio, Giraffe Innovation and Frog Design.
