Dundee photographer Jamie Whyte’s photograph of a fire-breather has been named as among the top 50 in the world.
Known as Foxhound Photography, self-taught Jamie’s picture Derelict Flames has been named in the Sony World Photography Awards 2015, in the low light category.
His image was selected from 78,000 submitted from 171 countries around the world.
Showing Mark Brennan breathing fire in September 2014, the picture is part of a series.
Jamie said: “As soon as I saw the shot on the back of the camera I knew that was the best shot I would get that night.
“Not long after the photo was taken I entered it into the low light category of the awards.
“I forgot about it, and only got an email months later telling me it was commended by the World Photography Organisation.”
In 2014 he was featured in Digital Photo Magazine as one of the best creative photographers.
