Freight train derails between Dundee and Broughty Ferry

A derailed freight train on the line between Dundee and Broughty Ferry is causing chaos for commuters.
The incident happened at 2.20am around a mile east of Dundee.
Nobody was injured when the engineering train left the track but the incident has forced the cancellation of train services north of Dundee.
Trains from Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen are all terminating at Dundee, while southbound trains stop at Carnoustie.Has your travel been disrupted? Those who must travel by train should expect significant delays.
A spokesman for the ScotRail Alliance said: “We apologise to customers affected by this disruption and are working hard to reopen the line and resume normal service.”
