The man who brutally raped and murdered Dundee mother-of-three Mary McLaren has appeared in an Irish court.
Patrick Rae was called to Longford District Court to face charges under the Sex Offences Act.
The 45-year-old killer, from Lacken in County Longford, appeared before Judge Seamus Hughes charged with failing to notify the Garda of his address being a person bound to the sex offenders register on October 19, 2008.
It is almost five years since the depraved predator committed the murder that shocked Dundee, sparking one of the biggest manhunts the city has ever seen.
Rae, who is serving a 20-year sentence, was transported to Ireland for the Tuesday morning hearing where he faced two charges.
Charge one stated that he breached the terms the sex offenders register, and the second alleged that he trespassed.
The court heard the defendant was pleading guilty to being in breach of the sex offenders register and the second matter was subsequently struck out.
Inspector Padraig Jones addressed the court explaining that Rae still has 14 years remaining on his sentence.
In 2011, Rae was sentenced to life after a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh.
He was caught after CCTV images showed him dancing with Ms McLaren and leaving a nightclub with her on the night she disappeared.
Her body was found two weeks later on March 10, hidden in undergrowth near the Ladywell roundabout.
Judge Hughes convicted him of the breach of register offence and sentenced him to one month imprisonment concurrent to his current term.
