A 12-year-old boy has been charged by police after a car crash in Dundee.
Emergency services rushed to Strathmartine Road after a silver Peugeot 206 and a navy Ford Focus collided head-on.
It is alleged the child was driving at the time of Thursday’s accident. He has been charged with a number of offences including taking and driving away a vehicle.
Police were making efforts to trace a vehicle when the accident happened near the junction with Haldane Street.
Paramedics attended and treated a 12-year-old at the scene.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call to attend at the junction of Strathmartine Road and Haldane Street.
“A young boy had pains in his legs. However, he did not require hospital treatment.”
A police spokesman said: “We received a report of a vehicle being taken from an address in Dundee at about 10.30am.
“The car was subsequently involved in a minor collision with another vehicle in Strathmartine Road.
“Emergency services attended and there were no apparent injuries as a result of the incident.”
Jordan Johnstone, 19, of Broughty Ferry, said: “I turned around to see what had happened and saw one of the vehicles all smashed up at the front on the road.”
