An exclusion zone will be set up around the area from 8am, with all properties in the area being evacuated. Residents and businesses in the zone have already been contacted.
Safedem has been carrying out preparatory works at the multis over the past few months.

Bayne Square, Canning Place, Burgess Street, Mid Road, Peterson Street and Reid Street will be among the 19 streets closed to all traffic for the duration of the demolition operation There will also be no vehicle access to the Law.
A police spokeswoman said: “Any vehicles left on restricted or closed roads will be removed. There is a strong possibility that dust will be blown through the air from the collapsing building towards homes in the nearby area.
“Although the dust is not harmful, we strongly recommend that you close all doors, windows and vents and do not hang out any washing during the operation.
“On the day of the demolition, we strongly recommend that all pets be kept indoors ensuring that they cannot escape through cat flaps or open windows or doors. Fishponds and rabbit hutches should be covered.
“Both St Martin’s Episcopal Church and SS Peter and Paul’s Church will not be holding their regular Sunday morning services. Please contact the churches directly for details of rearranged services.”
With the closure of Strathmartine Road, bus services 22 and 1B will be re-routed via Dens Road and Moncur Crescent for the duration of the operation.
