£11,000 J. F. Kegs raiders could be undone by CCTV

Thieves who stole nearly £11,000 from a Dundee business could be undone by a bungle at an earlier break-in.
Three men broke into J. F. Kegs and used a carrier bag in an attempt to cover a CCTV camera.
A similar raid was attempted a week earlier but a clear plastic bag was put over the camera, allowing the face of one of the culprits to be seen.
After covering up the camera in the successful theft, the thieves got through two layers of brick wall to remove the safe, bolted to concrete.
On the way out they removed half the main door so as not to set off the alarm and took away glass panels from some of the store’s windows.
As we reported, manager Jim Fyffe believes it was “definitely a professional job.”
Detective Constable Grant Clayton confirmed a man’s face could be seen on the footage from May 3 but said information was still required from anyone who spotted suspicious activity either overnight between Sunday and Monday or overnight between May 2 and 3.
Officers are poring over the camera images, carrying out door-to-door inquiries and investigating DNA evidence in an effort to catch the criminals.
