The family of a missing Glenrothes man have once again turned to a specialist sniffer dog to help find their son. Barra, a springer spaniel, was searching reservoirs in the Lomond Hills yesterday in the latest effort to trace Allan Bryant Jr. The 24-year-old has not been seen since leaving Styx nightclub in Glenrothes on November 3 2013. He had been on a night out with friends but has never returned home, despite high-profile appeals by his family and the police. The family were contacted by Ian Marshall, of K9 Search and Rescue, who has offered Barra to help in the search for Allan. Last month an area of scrubland by the River Leven was investigated by Barra, who has the ability to detect smells underwater. Grateful for the assistance, Allan’s father, Allan Bryant Sr, told The Courier: “I just wish we could have had this available to us earlier. “Obviously there are more places to search but at least this means we can tick places off the list.”
