
Traffic was backed up for miles after a caravan overturned on the A90 at Laurencekirk.
Diversions were put in place when a car trailing a caravan jack-knifed at the Oatyhill junction southbound shortly before 3.30pm.
The accident did not involve any other vehicle but an ambulance was called as a precaution.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A caravan being towed on the A90 overturned.
“An ambulance was called as a precaution as the occupants of the car were shocked.”
Motorists were left stuck in lengthy queues with one describing traffic backed up “as far as the eye can see”.
