The Lord Provost’s Youth Festival will mark the official reopening of City Square after its £2 million revamp.
Around 450 members of local youth and community groups, along with representatives of Dundee’s twin towns, will be taking part in displays and performances throughout the day.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy a sprinting contest in Reform Street and climbing walls, along with static displays of a fire engine and the cockpit of a Hawker Harrier jet and from 3.15pm dancing to the tunes of the Cutting Edge ceilidh band.
Lord Provost Bob Duncan said: “The number of people who have stopped me in the street or mentioned to me at my surgeries how good the City Square is looking has been almost overwhelming.
“We now have a civic space in the heart of Dundee which is the equal of any town or city square in the country, and I want to make sure that as many people as possible join us there on Saturday to vote with their feet in a massive open-air ceilidh.”
