X Factor hopeful Jade Richards looking to make it third time lucky

Fife singer Jade Richards is hoping to make it third time lucky on the X Factor after getting through to bootcamp by the skin of her teeth.

Jade, 23, from Buckhaven, had shed four stone and changed her hair for her TV comeback on Saturday night and the judges hardly recognised her when she walked into the audition room.

On Saturday her new look got the seal of approval from Gary Barlow, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger and she easily won four yeses with her closed room audition.

She returned on Sunday night’s show to perform Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black in the next round of tryouts.

Before singing Jade admitted that nerves were getting the better of her, saying: “I’m a bit nervous. It’s a big day. I feel like this is a make or break situation for me, so I’m hoping for the best.”

Jade’s performance didnt go quite to plan with judges remarking that it was technically correct but lacked spark.

Gary Barlow said: “I was sold two years ago on you OK, I think you’re a fantastic singer but there is something that happens in your auditions.

“It suited you that song, it really did but there is no climax to it.”

Sharon Osborne added: “You know when you perform you disconnect from the audience, there is no passion and fire inside you.”

Luckily for Jade, the judges relied on their previous impressions of her and gave her four yeses but she was under no illusions that her place was only narrowly won.
