St Andrews artist puts Jenny Agutter painting up for sale

Actress Jenny Agutter, who features in the TV series Call the Midwife, has approved the sale of her portrait painted by St Andrews artist Ken Roberts.
The profit from the sale of Pensive Jenny will go to her chosen charity, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Mr Roberts said: “The portrait was inspired by Jenny’s memorable role in the classic and well-loved film the Railway Children which was screened over the festive season.
“We recorded it in anticipation of a visit from our three grandchildren who are, coincidentally, two girls and a boy.
“I hadn’t seen the movie in its entirety up till then and was captivated by its innocent values and nostalgic content. Jenny has a lovely face and a great presence which made the portrait a joy to work on.”
In the seven-week run-up to Christmas, Mr Roberts’ Hillcrest Studio in Strathkinness staged a successful joint exhibition of his paintings alongside the beautiful woodcraft work of Kincaple craftsman Jim Brown.
The exhibition was extended through January as a result.
