Ann Gloag given permission for new houses on Kinfauns Castle estate By News reporter March 30 2012, 1:53pm March 30 2012, 1:53pm Share Ann Gloag given permission for new houses on Kinfauns Castle estate Share via Facebook Twitter Linkedin Whatsapp Messenger Email Post link https://www.thecourier.co.uk/news/perth-kinross/119316/ann-gloag-given-permission-for-new-houses-on-kinfauns-castle-estate/ Copy Link Stagecoach tycoon Ann Gloag is celebrating after Perth and Kinross Council backed plans for the development of her Kinfauns Castle estate. A six-bedroom home and a separate three-bedroom bungalow will now be built in the grounds, despite opposition from Mrs Gloag’s neighbours. The decision was taken by council planners under delegated powers, meaning the proposals did not go before councillors. It is yet another victory for Mrs Gloag, who in 2007 won a right-to-roam test case enabling her to fence-off part of the estate. Those proposals were backed despite bitter opposition from the Ramblers Association Scotland and Perth and Kinross Council. Her latest plans aroused the ire of neighbours, who say the development will have an adverse impact upon their privacy and house prices. As part of the decision, Mrs Gloag will make a £12,790 contribution towards Kinnoull Primary School.
