Scorching weather brought huge crowds to Pitlochry Recreation Ground on Saturday for the culmination of the Perthshire Highland Games season.
Spectators sheltered beneath programmes and parasols within the packed stands as they enjoyed a fine day’s entertainment.
The traditional games offered all the expected fare, including track and field events, cycling, piping, Highland dancing and tug o’ war.Click here for a full photo galleryAs ever, the heavy competitions proved hugely popular, with local athletes such as Blair Atholl’s Lorne Colthart impressing with their feats of strength and skill.
The loudest cheers were reserved for the massed pipe bands who paraded into the games arena to a rousing ovation before their competition.
All Perthshire Highland Games Association leagues were running at the event and there was success for one Perthshire competitor in particular.
The PHGA Dancing League trophy went to Jillian Kennedy, 19, from Aberfeldy, to crown a series of dominant performances during the season.
