T in the Park will return to Strathallan.

The T in the Park music festival will lead to the closure and disruption of nearly 160 kilometres of the road network across central Scotland.

Perth and Kinross Council has lodged a lengthy list of affected roads which will be subject to temporary traffic restrictions during the festival at the Strathallan Estate next month.

Almost 20 roads around the new site, including two A roads, face being totally closed for five days between July 9 and 13.

The A roads involved are the A822 between the A9 Greenloaning and Gallowhill, Crieff junctions and the A823 between the A977 to A822 Bishops Bridge junctions.

Other roads impacted stretch from Muthill to Huntingtower.

Perth and Kinross council has revealed the list of affected roads and made a series of closures and speed restrictions amounting to 158 kilometres of the road network.

As well as road closures, seven approach roads are to be speed limited to 30 miles per hour from today until the last week of July.

Those restrictions are aimed to increase safety around the site during the setting up of the festival and the clear-up period during the fortnight after the event.

A festival insider said that full details of the traffic management plan will be released in the next few days.
