Biker banned after being clocked at 109mph

A biker has been banned from driving for four months after being caught riding at 109mph on the A90.

Ian Harvie, 39, was clocked breaking the 70mph speed limit on September 10 last year at St Madoes.

Solicitor Linda Clark told the court Harvie was travelling to Aberdeen to see his pregnant girlfriend when the offence occurred.

She said: “His girlfriend was heavily pregnant at the time. He was anxious to visit her and hadn’t noticed his speed had crept up to the level indicated.”

Sheriff Fiona Tait also fined Harvie, of Bethlin Mews, Aberdeen, £380.
