Local bands played a “welcome T in the Park” gig in Strathearn on Friday.
Organised by Debbie Ramsay, the event at the Niblick in Auchterarder was arranged to show residents’ support for the music festival, which is planned to take place in Strathallan Castle Estate in July.
The new venue has proved controversial but Ms Ramsay said: “T in the Park will be good for this area and a lot of people are keen to get behind it.
“We talked about this event on Monday as we felt we should show our support for T in the Park.
“There are a lot of people in the area who are saying the festival will benefit the area.”
She continued: “I have a friend who is planning on coming back from Dubai to see T in the Park, so that shows how a lot of people feel about it.
“This will be its first year at Strathallan Castle and we feel people should see how it goes.
“We arranged three bands to play at the Niblick and are holding a raffle, with the proceeds going to local children’s clubs.”
