T in the Park boss claims music fans ‘don’t give a damn’ about controversial grant

The row over Scottish Government money handed to T in the Park took another twist yesterday when the festival boss said revellers “don’t give a damn” about it.
Geoff Ellis, chief executive of DF Concerts, told The Courier he was “happy” to receive £150,000 from the Scottish Government as moving the festival from Balado to Strathallan cost so much.
T in the Park has become mired in a political saga, with the award being granted after former special advisor Jennifer Dempsie set up meetings between DF Concerts and Culture Minister Fiona Hyslop.
“People know it cost us a shed load of money to move…let’s move on,” Mr Ellis said.
Meanwhile, the T in the Park boss also revealed he foresees the festival remaining in Scotland for many years to come and admitted lessons had been learnt after receiving complaints about the handling of their first year at Strathallan Castle Estate.
