Police are hunting football fans who ran riot on a train following Dundee United’s away defeat at the hands of St Johnstone.
British Transport Police is appealing for information after the supporters behaved in a disorderly manner on a train travelling between Perth and Dundee on December 29.
The large group of supporters, believed to have been returning from United’s SPFL match at St Johnstone, boarded the train at Perth around 6.45pm and during the journey to Dundee shouted remarks, including some of a racist nature.
They are also reported to have punched windows and the ceiling and jumped up and down the carriage.
Officer say their behaviour left other passengers, including children, alarmed.
Detective Constable David McAllister, the BTP officer in charge of the inquiry, said: “This service was busy at the time and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the disorder and can provide information which may help identify those responsible to contact me.”
British Transport Police can be contacted on 0800 40 50 40 or information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Police are also continuing to investigate the assault of a steward at the match.
