A popular Highland Perthshire tourist spot has been closed to the public for three months for renovation work.
The Forestry Commission Scotland says the Queen’s View visitor centre and viewpoint at the Tay Forest Park, near Pitlochry, will be shut from today until March 31.
The closure will allow rebuilding and upgrading work to the footpath to make it accessible for wheelchairs. Damage caused by the recent storms will also be fixed.
Hamish Murray, for the commission’s Tayside team, said: ”We have a great network of trails across the area that welcome people of all ages and levels of ability and the Queen’s View trail will be a great addition to this all-abilities network.
”This is probably the best time of year to carry out the work before the visitor numbers begin to pick up for the season.
”And hopefully, once it’s completed, the new trail will encourage more people including young families to come and visit and enjoy the experience of a walk to one of Scotland’s great viewpoints.”
