Thousands of people will descend on the grounds of Scone Palace today as one of the major events on Scotland’s rural calendar gets under way.
Now in its 24th year, the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) Scottish Game Fair is one of the country’s most successful summer events.
Combining entertainment, competition and shopping, the three-day event ploughs all of its proceeds back into the trust’s research into game and wildlife.
While fingers are firmly crossed that the weather improves over the weekend, the game fair and regular visitors are well prepared for anything that Scotland’s summer can throw at them.
Fair director David Noble was on site on Thursday ensuring last-minute preparations were going to plan.
”The parklands at Scone Palace are looking wonderful,” he said. ”We have so many attractions this year for all the family, both new and those which are back by popular demand.
”We hope the Scottish Game Fair will add to the celebratory feeling in the country this year along with the Queen’s jubilee and the London Olympics by showcasing our wonderful natural heritage and those who live and work in rural Scotland.”Find out more at www.scottishfair.comPhoto by Phil Hannah
