One of the biggest infrastructure projects in Scotland’s history has been opened to public scrutiny.
The Scottish Government aims to dual the A9 between Perth and Inverness by 2025, and an opportunity for the public to have their say on the proposals got under way on Monday.
Preparatory work has begun and consultants appointed for the preliminary engineering and environmental work, but a series of roadshows are being held to allow the public a chance to comment at the early stages of the project.
”I would encourage everyone with an interest to come along and help ensure local needs are reflected as we develop the dualling programme,” said Transport Minister Keith Brown.
The exhibition began at Pitlochry Town Hall. It moves to Inverness today and will be at the Dewar’s Centre in Perth on Friday from noon-7pm.
Next Monday the roadshow will be at the Birnam Arts and Conference Centre from 10am-3pm and the Birnam Hotel from 6-8pm, then on Thursday it will be at the Bankfoot Church Centre from noon-7pm.
