New research has found 44% of people in Fife, Perth and Kinross and Stirling say they have slowed down to make their fuel go further. In Dundee, Angus and Aberdeenshire, 42% of drivers have also eased off the accelerator in a bid to save money. The YouGov study commissioned by the Energy Saving Trust surveyed more than 1,000 Scottish adults about their driving habits. It found that more than four in 10 motorists have dropped their average speed to improve fuel economy. Almost six out of 10 drivers have cut their motorway speed by 10mph or more.
