Former Dundee player Alan Lawrence admits postal theft

Alan Lawrence admitted the charges at Airdrie Sheriff Court.
Former Dundee player Alan Lawrence has pled guilty to postal theft.
He admitted stealing postal packets and their contents, while working as a postman, over a five and a half year period during his appearance at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Lawrence made 36 appearances for the Dens Park side between 1987 and 1989 and also played for Hearts, Airdrieonians, Cowdenbeath and Arbroath during his 20-year career.
The court heard the value of the thefts committed by the former footballer came to £500.
The 51-year-old’s sentence has been deferred for background reports.
He is due to reappear next month.
