Coming up in Monday’s Courier A little bit of magic

Coming up in Monday’s Courier A little bit of magic

Somewhere on Monday somebody will write a story proclaiming it to be the most depressing day of the year.

And to that story I say acidulous* nonsense.

Pick up thy Courier and find out why it is, in actual point of fact, a glorious day to be alive.

First day back to work for many it may well be, but that doesn’t make it dismal. No way.

We have lots of nice news guaranteed to make it a magical Monday.

For starters we have news of the professional eater (seriously) who has taken on the awesome “Poppa’s Revenge” in St Andrews.

Five burgers, a whole block of cheese, pulled pork, chicken wings, fries and of course a side salad are all included.

It’s enough to make you feel positively bilious.

Unless you are the mighty Randy Santel, nach.

But did ol’ Randy succeed?

Find out in your satisfying-but-not-sickly Courier.

In other news we bid a fond Fife farewell to the Singing Kettle.

Spout, handle, lit of metal, it turns out there is nothing left inside the Singing Kettle.

Stirring stuff for any of those to have enjoyed performances by the Kettlers over the last THREE decades (I know, cripes).

We also hear from the outdoor swimmer who is looking forward to doing lots of outdoor swimming (it’s better than I’ve made it sound).

And just to keep the energy up we also inject a bit of controversy courtesy of a renewable energy story sure to get people talking (“I love turbines”/”I think they are a blight on the landscape”/”Go away and never talk to me again. Ever”. that kind of thing).

You may remember that, not so very long ago, I said it would be and I quote a “magical Monday”. Well, I very much hope you can now see why. Please do prove it to be so by snapping up your copy of The Courier. Failing that, why not try our digital edition?
