Coming up in Saturday’s Courier for your delectation bags and nudity

Coming up in Saturday’s Courier for your delectation bags and nudity

It is going to be the best Saturday ever.

I base that ENTIRELY on the quality of the weekend Courier we have on offer.

Bold? Yes. Realistic? Damn right.

It really is a corker of an offering.

In Coming Up Corner we do, from time to time, find ourselves in reflective mood.

And it was while in just such a mood we began ruminating on the old plastic bag tax that came in the other day.

We decided to find out what measures people would be prepared to go to in a bid to avoid the 5p charge.

Regular readers will know we are not easily surprised but, ye gads and little fishes, we were frankly astonished by what is going on.

Amazing scenes across Courier Country as we found shoppers prepared to go to almost any lengths to avoid the charge.

Pop a paper in your basket to find out more…but don’t then steal the basket (there’s a clue in there regarding said lengths).

Having ruminated about a recent event, we then decided to ruminate about a future event (just to balance things up a bit), namely Halloween.

Kids are set to enjoy a horrific amount of goodies, and will no doubt consume a ghoulish array of additives.

But do we really need the local health board to tell parents about healthy eating and the importance of not over-indulging at Halloween?

Or is it an example of “the nanny state gone mad”.

At least one politician thinks so.

We find out more and so can you on perusing your very healthy Courier (free from all artificial preservatives).

Ahh nudity.

It can be very artful, but when does it cross the line into little more than filth?

Facebook has come under fire for taking down a site which featured life drawing.

“For goodness sake put it back” said some angry people (words in a similar vein in any case).

So Facebook did.

Very much to their credit.

It being the weekend, we also look ahead to a weekend of sizzling sport.

Not in any way limited to the crazy golfer vying for a world title. He even has his own caddie.

To carry his putter.

Lovely stuff.

Told you it was realistic to suggest the best Courier ever is in the offing. Your only task now is to make absolutely sure you don’t miss out. Just think how that would make you feel (not good. Not good at all. Rather chilling, really). If you can’t face paper, why not try our equally magnificent digital edition?
