Jim Jefferies hit the January sales and was a happy shopper after watching his three new signings help Dunfermline to a derby day win over East Fife.
The East End Park gaffer handed debuts to Jon Page, Danny Grainger and Ross Forbes.
Page was solid at the back while Forbes and Grainger grabbed a goal each as the Pars cruised.
Ryan Wallace added another while Paul Willis grabbed a late consolation for East Fife.
Jefferies hailed the impact made by his new men.
He said: “In the first half I think East Fife could be glad that they came in just a goal down because we totally dominated.
“We were worthy of being three or four up. The new boys coming in gave us that wee bit of quality.
“Three of them made their debuts and two scored so that’s been a good bit of business. Danny Grainger is just glad to be back playing and I thought Ross Forbes was outstanding.”
The Pars passed up a great chance to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty in the first five minutes.
Gary Naysmith was judged to have handled inside his own box but his blushes were spared when keeper Greg Paterson stopped Forbes’ penalty kick.
The Pars were well worthy of the lead they took a short while later.
Ryan Williamson’s cross should have been cleared by Joe Mbu, but wasn’t, and Forbes was on hand to net.
East Fife’s best chance to equalise fell to Kevin Smith but he blasted high over the bar after doing well to create space for himself inside the box.
Both sides struggled against a swirling wind which whipped across Bayview, making flowing football almost impossible.But Dunfermline handled the conditions better and Wallace made it 2-0 when he finished another fine Williamson cross.
The win was wrapped up when Grainger’s shot squirmed under Paterson and into the net.
Willis pulled one back for the Fifers but a comeback never looked likely.
Bayview boss Naysmith admitted it had been a bad day at the office.
He said: “The better team won. Dunfermline handled the conditions better. When they had the wind they put us under a lot of pressure.
“We battled well in the first half and we thought at half-time if we could get the next goal, like we did last week, we could go on from there. But for whatever reason we never got going.”
