Hibs boss Alan Stubbs plays down impact of League Cup win over Dundee United

Hibs manager Alan Stubbs insists his team’s resounding win over United in the League Cup quarter-final won’t have a bearing on this match.
The Tangerines were hammered 3-0 by the Championship club at Easter Road on November 4 and that loss remains one of the low points for the Tannadice men in what has been a miserable season.
However, Stubbs is not convinced the previous meeting of the sides will have any influence on today’s encounter in the last four of the William Hill Scottish Cup.
He said: “I think there is a completely different set of circumstances now.
“That was then and this is now.
“If anything, it will give our players that little bit of comfort that they know they can beat them.
“But I have got to say I think Dundee United are stronger now than they were then.
“I am not saying they are a drastically different team but they are stronger.”
