Cowdenbeath v Rangers: Nicholl demands Cowden bounce back after Hearts humiliation
ByThe Courier Reporter
Cowdenbeath manager Jimmy Nicholl is calling on his shell-shocked players to help soften the embarrassment of their 10-0 hammering by Hearts by bouncing back this weekend.
He is demanding a “performance” in their all-ticket sell-out Championship clash with Rangers at Central Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Cowden boss said: “You don’t really get over a result like that until you bounce back with a good performance.
“It was a horrific feeling on Saturday night and I felt even worse on Sunday night, then spent two days watching the whole game again.”
He added: “It won’t be a nice atmosphere in the ground on Saturday but we must aim to bounce back.
“In order to convince our supporters that it was just a one-off we have to back that up with a performance against Rangers.”
Nicholl will have his on-loan striker from Dundee United, Kudus Oyenuga, and defender Darren Brownlie available again after foot injuries but key midfield man Colin Marshall is likely to miss out again because of a hamstring problem
Central defender Lewis Toshney is also out suspended after being sent off last Saturday.
