Cowdenbeath manager Colin Nish takes his side to Airdrie today determined to show that the 2-0 defeat from Stranraer in their last outing was a blip.
Nish said: “We had a poor performance and result in our last game a fortnight ago. We wanted to get going again as soon as possible so it was disappointing that our game with Forfar was called off last week. We have had to wait an extra week to try and put things right.
“We did manage to get a bounce game with Alloa during the week and that helped. I am sure that one of the reasons for the poor display against Stranraer was that we had a new look side after the January transfer dealings so playing that game helped everyone integrate more.”
Nish added: “We will go there and look for a positive result. It is important to ensure that we avoid going on a run of disappointing results and even losing two or three consecutive games changes the outlook of your season.
“We are at a stage of the season where a run of wins or a run of defeats will define your season. We need to get back to the form we were showing in November and December.
“I am sure that we will as one bad performance does not make us a bad team.”
Ex-Aberdeen youngster Kieran Gibbons has been added to the squad.
Nish said: “I am delighted to get Kieran in as I see him doing the role that Andy Murdoch did for us before he went back to Rangers. He will be involved in this game and I am looking forward to seeing him in action.”
Liam Callaghan is a doubt after picking up a knock.
