Montrose battled their way to a share of the spoils at home to League Two leaders Annan.
Annan took the lead but Montrose hit back and were well worth the point, the first they have gained since beating Berwick Rangers at home on Halloween.
After an even opening period, Annan were first to threaten on 12 minutes. A shot from Peter Weatherston was blocked and a follow-up from Matty Flynn was deflected for a corner.
A minute later, Rabin Omar beat keeper Jordan Millar to the ball and Adam Harwood got back to clear.
Montrose created their first chance on 18 minutes. Gavin Malin found Gary Fraser and the striker had his effort smothered by Jordan Hart. On 26 minutes, a Weatherston header from a Steven Black cross was saved by Millar.
Annan grabbed the lead on 28 minutes with a goal out of nothing. A Martin McNiff throw was cleared as far as Ryan Finnie and he found the bottom corner from 30 yards.
The goal lifted Annan but Montrose defended valiantly for the rest of the half. On 49 minutes, a shot from Stuart McColm was saved by Millar.
Montrose had their fans cheering with an equaliser on 51 minutes. Graham Webster got the break of the ball 20 yards out and found the bottom corner in style.
Montrose looked for another and four minutes later a cross from Adrian Mallagaray slipped across the face of goal.
On 63 minutes, Webster beat an opponent and shot into the side netting.
The conditions almost gave Montrose a freak goal on 70 minutes when a kick from Millar saw the ball bounce over Hart and just wide. Montrose looked the more likely side to score and, on 78 minutes, Mallagaray just failed to connect with a Ryan Kenneth cross in front of goal.
On 90 minutes, Montrose had one last chance when a shot from Webster was deflected for a corner, but the Annan defence survived and the ball was scrambled clear.
