Dunfermline players have been told to expect payment of their November wages within the next seven to 10 days, Courier Sport understands.
As the Fife club continues to manage its precarious cashflow predicament, the club confirmed that players have so far only been paid 37% of their November salary this after seeing their October wages similarly staggered.
Players received the balance of their October salary at the end of last week, following the home game against Dumbarton, but the club’s continuing cash flow problem has now had a knock-on effect on November and has resulted in players again being left out of pocket.
The club has blamed a lack of home games and resulting lack of revenue for the current situation but has repeatedly insisted the outlook for December looks far better, as the Pars are scheduled to host three important league fixtures including two derbies between now and January 2.
A Pars spokesperson confirmed that, in meeting HMRC payments, the club is facing another ”temporary shortfall that it is working to bridge” and is confident the players will be paid in full as soon as possible.
The spokesperson added: ”December is the month when our cash flow situation improves significantly with ongoing Christmas parties, a sell-out ‘Lads’ Day’ and two further home games, on December 15 and Boxing Day.
”The players have been hugely understanding and supportive of our efforts and we would also like to pay tribute to the fans who have demonstrated their backing of the club by coming along to our last home game and fundraising over £5,000, £4,000 of which has now been handed to the club to pay 40% of the under-20s’ salaries.
”While the last few weeks have been tough, it has galvanised efforts from supporters, staff, suppliers and players to fight for their club.
”We need to continue with this positive approach until the end of December when we can get to a better place financially and implement our restructuring plans to drive the club forward.”
Meanwhile, Dunfermline’s under-20 goalkeeper Steven Mayne has joined junior side Rosyth until the end of the season on loan.
