Cowdenbeath v Dundee: Cameron keen to move on

Cowdenbeath boss Colin Cameron has warned Dundee they will face a team with a point to prove at Central Park on Saturday.

The Dark Blues will journey to Fife boosted by their success at home to Morton and will be confident taking three points back over the Tay.

Cameron reckons his charges will still be smarting from their 5-1 capitulation away to Livingston and will be doubly keen to respond in the right way.

The Blue Brazil had been in charge at Almondvale but the concession of an equaliser at the end of the first half and a second-half collapse brought about a result the player/boss wants to forget.

“To be honest, it was not just the second half,” said Cameron. “Even when we were 1-0 up, we never played anywhere near our capabilities.

“Ball retention was poor and up until the actual equaliser I thought we defended corners pretty well but after that we kind of lost our way.

“At 1-0 we had a couple of opportunities to extend our lead and, had we done that, it would have been a totally different game but conceding just before half-time deflated us a wee bit.

“We didn’t get the reaction from the team that we normally get, so that was disappointing.

“Having said that, in the past when we’ve had a disappointing game the players have shown a lot of resilience and determination to put things right and have come out fighting. I’m sure that will be the case this weekend.”

Cowden have two injury doubts, with midfielder Lewis Milne and forward Greg Stewart struggling with ankle problems.

Stewart injured his ankle in training last Thursday, while Milne was forced off with a knock just after an hour of Saturday’s loss.

Cameron concluded: “They didn’t train on Tuesday so it’s just going to be a case of waiting to see how they are with regards to playing this weekend.”
